Q: How do I add my music and video files to my Xbox 360 HDD?

A: Standard video file formats, such as.wmv, .mov, .m4v, .mpg, .avi, etc. are incompatible with the Xbox 360's internal file system. Standard Audio file formats, such as .mp3, .mp4, .wav, etc. are also incompatible with the Xbox 360's internal file system.

These files cannot be copied to the Xbox 360's hard drive using the Xport and used properly. The Xbox 360 uses a proprietary file format and will only play back audio / video files that have been encoded specifically for the Xbox 360.

Please refer to the Xbox 360 owners manual for instructions regarding copying / playing audio or video files on the Xbox 360 console.
