Q: I am not able to press any buttons in the GBX software; what should I do?

Try changing your font size on your computer.

  1. Right click on your desktop
  2. Choose customize my desktop
  3. Click on Settings tab in the box that appears
  4. Click Advanced at the bottom right

The next message box to appear up will have your current font size - change it to small (if you do not have small listed in your options you can choose “Other”, then make sure that the font is set to 96 DPI/Pixels per inch)

This should fix the software to allow you to click on the buttons.

Q: I click on “SEARCH” in the software and it will not display a list of games/codes; why?

First you need to make sure you are connected to the internet. You must be online to download codes to your GBA Action Replay.

You will then need to make sure you are not running any type of Anti Virus software, or firewall enabled when searching for codes. These hardware/software devices will prevent the software from connecting to our code servers.

Please Note: When turning off your Anti Virus protection, you must make sure you are turning it off in the System Tray which is located next to the clock on your PC.

If you have done all of this and are still having problems we would recommend contacting the hardware/software manufacturer or instruction manuals for assistance in disabling them or allowing the GBA ActionReplay software to connect.

Q: When I click on the AR GBX button I get an “Error Connecting” message; why?

If you are receiving an “Error Connecting” message when trying to link the GBA Action Replay to your computer you must make sure that you have everything connected properly.

  1. Be sure you have a game in the Action Replay and that the Acton Replay is pressed firmly into the GameBoy Advance.
  2. Plug one end of the USB cable into the Action Replay and plug the other end into a free USB port on your PC.
  3. Turn the GameBoy Advance on.
  4. Let the Action Replay load to the main menu screen, and then open the GBX software on your computer.
  5. Click on the AR GBX button at the bottom of the GBX software.

If you have followed these steps properly and you are still receiving an “Error Connecting” message when clicking on the AR GBX button please contact us by using the "Still Need Help?" option on this site. Please be sure to include a detailed description of your problem.

Q: How do I download codes into my GameBoy Advance Action Replay using the GBX software?

Make sure you have installed the latest version of the GBX software on your PC; this can be found in the “Downloads” section of codejunkies.com.

  1. Connect the Action Replay to your computer using the included USB cable.
  2. Make sure that your Action Replay has a GameBoy Advance game in it and the GameBoy is turned on to the Main Menu screen of the Action Replay.
  3. Open the Action Replay software on your computer, and click on the AR GBX button on the bottom left. You will see a screen that shows that the Action Replay is being read by the computer.
  4. Once the computer is done reading the Action Replay click on the CODEJUNKIES button on the bottom right hand side of the software.
  5. Leave the search area blank and click the SEARCH button. A list of all games and codes that are available for download will appear.
  6. Put a check in the box beside the name of the game you want to download
  7. On the left side of the software under ACTIONS click the DOWNLOAD button. The codes that are checked will be downloaded to your PC DATABASE.
  8. Click on the PC DATABASE button and again check the boxes beside the games you want to add to your Action Replay.
  9. Under ACTION click the RESTORE button. You will see a transfer screen that will show you that the games selected are being sent to the Action Replay.
  10. Once this is finished the games you selected will be available in your Action Replay. You can now disconnect the unit from your PC.
Q: I see codes for a game that I want listed on your website, but when I search for it in the GBX software it is not showing up; why?

Since the USB enabled ActionReplay has been discontinued for quite some time now, we no longer support the GBX PC software. This means that any new games that are released in the future will not be updated into the software, and if there are codes in the software that do not function they will not be removed. (The current GameBoy Advance Action Replay no longer comes with the USB cable and GBX software disc and therefore does not have the ability to download codes directly from your PC.)

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please remember that if there are codes posted on the website that are not available in the software for download you can manually enter them into your Action Replay by following the instructions in the manual.

Q: I lost my USB cable, how can I purchase a replacement?

If you have purchased the GameBoy Advance Action Replay and have broken or misplaced your USB cable you can purchase a new one by sending in a check or money order in the amount of $9.99 plus $2.00 shipping and handling to the address below. Please make the check payable to Datel Design & Development and please include a short letter explaining the issue.
