Q: I just purchased the new Freeloader and it is not being recognized by my Gamecube.
I receive a “Disc Cannot Be Read” error.

Unfortunately, the latest version of the Gamecube Freeloader is not compatible with some models of the Gamecube Console. If you have purchased an incompatible version of the Freeloader (from a valid retailer as listed below), please send it to the address listed below with a copy of your receipt showing that it was purchased within the past 90 days and we will process a refund for you.

Please Note:  In order to receive a refund for this product, the Freeloader must have been purchased from a valid U.S. Retailer (such as Best Buy or GameStop) or from our website, www.codejunkies.com. If your item was purchased from eBay, similar auction site, or from a retailer outside of the U.S., please contact the seller directly for a refund.

Q: My Freeloader used to work on my Nintendo Wii, but now it won’t load.

Unfortunately, due to recent Wii updates, Nintendo has rendered current versions of the Gamecube Freeloader incompatible with the Nintendo Wii console. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Q: When I attempt to play a PAL game with the Freeloader it displays in black and white; Is there any way to fix this?

In order to play a PAL game on your GameCube your TV needs to support NTSC 50htz or the game will display in black and white. Some games will allow you to choose 60htz on boot up. To do this, hold the B button down while the game boots up, then select 60htz. By doing this your game should display normally.

Q: When I attempt to load my import game using the Freeloader the game will not load, it just stays on a black screen; What can I do?

Certain Game titles require alternative loading methods to allow them to function with the Freeloader.

Method 1:

  1. Turn on your GameCube without a disc inserted.
This will load the GameCube’s main options screen.
  2. Insert your Freeloader disc and close the lid.
The disc will begin to spin but will not load.
  3. Press up on the analog stick to choose “Game Play”.
    The Freeloader icon should appear.
  4. Remove the Freeloader disc and replace it with your game disc.
  5. Close the lid of your GameCube and the game should load automatically.

Method 2:

  1. Insert Freeloader and power on the GameCube console.
  2. When the disc loads, press the “Z” button on your controller.
This will display three ‘Region' flags on screen:
    European, American and Japanese.
  3. Use LEFT and RIGHT on your controller to highlight the appropriate region for the game you intend to play.
  4. Press ‘A'.

You can change region as many times as you wish before loading your game. If you do not select a region the dialogue will disappear after 5 seconds.
