Q: What is the Action Replay Duo?

The Action Replay Duo is a cheat device that is compatible with both the GBA/SP and the Nintendo DS.

The Action Replay Duo is compatible with all of the GBA/ SP codes found at www.codejunkies.com. These codes can be used when playing GBA/SP games on your GBA/SP or on your Nintendo DS. You can also download new GBA/SP codes from our website using the included PC application.

The Action Replay Duo also serves as a Max Drive for the Nintendo DS allowing you to manage your Nintendo DS saves and download new game saves from www.codejunkies.com.

Q: I cannot backup my saves for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl; what am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately, since the Action Replay Duo has been discontinued, it may not be compatible with newer WiFi enabled games such as Pokemon Diamond & Pearl.

Q: I am getting the error message, “1st fat table failed” or “1st inode table failed” on my GBA/DS Action Replay. Is my product broken?

You may need to reset your Action replay Duo to factory default settings.

Resetting your ActionReplay Duo:

  1. Switch on the DS and choose to start GBA game, or
If you are using a GBA/SP simply turn on the unit.

  2. Press both shoulder buttons, A, B, and Start simultaneously as the Action Replay loads.

NOTE: You should see a message confirming that Global Reset has been activated. You will have 3 seconds at this point to switch off the console if you do not wish to perform the reset. Resetting will erase all user settings, Action Replay codes, and DS saves stored on the Action Replay. Once your AR has been successfully reset, you should be able to use it again normally.

To transfer saves for your DS games to the cartridge, please follow the steps below.

  2. Connect your console to the PC by inserting the small end of the mini-USB cable into the AR Duo, and the large end into an available USB port on your PC.

  3. Open your DS Maxdrive software on the PC. Verify that the console is properly connected by accessing the Action Replay GBX feature. A list of codes available in the AR Duo should be displayed in the right-hand window.

  4. Use the Home button to return to the main menu, and choose Maxdrive DS.

  5. Choose “Restore my game cart save”, and when asked from where you would like to restore it, choose “My PC Database”.

  6. In the left hand window, highlight the save you wish to transfer. You should see its description in the right window.
