Q: How Do I Connect My LAN Adapter to my Nintendo Wii?
  1. To connect your LAN Adapter, plug the USB connection into an availableUSB Port on your Nintendo Wii Console.
  2. Connect a network cable (CAT 5) into the other side of the adapter (the Ethernet Port).
  3. Connect the other end of the network cable into your existing wired broadband network; an Ethernet Port on your network hub, switch or router.
Q: My LAN Adapter is connected but it is not being recognized by my Wii.

The LAN Adapter must be connected to the USB Port on your Wii while your Wii Console is powered off. Try rebooting the Wii Console.

Q: How do I get my Wii to recognize the internet connection.

Once the LAN Adapter is plugged in and recognized by the Wii Console, follow these steps to configure your console:

  1. Choose “Wii Options”
  2. Choose “Wii Settings”
  3. Click the arrow on the right side of the screen to view the 2nd page of options.
  4. Choose the “Internet” option on the 2nd page of the Wii System Settings.
  5. Choose “Connection Settings”.
  6. Select any empty Connection (Displayed as “None”).
  7. Select “Wired Connection”
  8. Choose “OK” to test the new connection
Set-up is now complete and your Wii should be able to access online services.
Q: I am getting Error Code 52230c

Please first verify your Wii LAN adapter is properly connected, and that all connections are secure. The LAN adapter should be connected to a free USB port on the back of the Wii, and the included ethernet cable should be attached to both the LAN adapter and a free ethernet port on your router or internet modem. If you still encounter this error message, please try the following steps:

  • Test your internet connection to ensure it is functioning properly using your PC or other online gaming consoles. After a successful test, disconnect the ethernet cable just used by the device, and connect it to the LAN adapter.
  • If you connect multiple devices in your household through a router, try bypassing the router and connecting the LAN adapter directly to your cable or DSL modem. A successful test in this case would indicate a problem with the settings on your router, and you should contact your router’s manufacturer for more information.
  • If your DSL or cable modem has multiple ways to connect it to your PC such as a USB and Ethernet connection, ensure you are not using both connections simultaneously. Try connection the LAN adapter to the Ethernet port, and disconnecting all other devices.
  • Create a new connection on the Wii. On the Internet Settings configuration screen, you will see 3 choices for possible connections to use, usually labeled “Wired”, “Wireless”, or “None”. Select one of the connections labeled “None” to perform your test. If none of the 3 options are labeled this way, delete one of the configurations to create a blank slot.

If you are still unable to connect, then unfortunately it sounds like the adapter may be defective. In this case, there are two things that we can recommend. One, you can try exchanging the product at the store from which it was purchased; or two, you can send the product into us with a copy of the sales receipt verifying that it is still within the 90 day warranty and we can exchange it for a new one. Please be sure to include a short letter explaining the issue with your return address on it.

Please Note: eBay is not considered a valid / authorized retailer. Purchases made on eBay or similar online auction sites will not be honored under the 90 day warranty policy; you must contact the original seller for a refund or exchange.
